This is part one of a 3-part series with the Housing Authority of Champaign County.

Do you have a business idea but aren’t sure where to begin? This session is designed to help you take the first steps. We’ll walk through simple tools to help you figure out if your idea can work, how to make a basic business plan, and what you need to know to officially start a business in Illinois. You’ll also learn about services and support available through the Illinois SBDC so you don’t have to build your business alone — all at no cost to you.

Topics include:

  • What the Illinois SBDC does and how we help
  • Evaluating if your business idea can work
  • Making a simple, one-page business plan
  • Understanding who your customers are
  • Registering your business

The webinar will be approximately 30-40 minutes of presentation time, followed by Q&A. Participants will be able to ask questions in the chat box, which will be addressed at the end of the presentation, moderated by a member of our team.
